What’s On
KAGUYAHIME
Jo Kanamori’s ambitious full-length ballet KAGUYAHIME revives for the first time since 2023.
Kaguyahime, a princess from the Moon, returns to Earth, at Ueno no Mori. Created for The Tokyo Ballet by Jo Kanamori, KAGUYAHIME world premiered in October 2023 to public and critical acclaim. Inspired by the oldest Japanese surviving piece of prose fiction “The Tale of Bamboo Cutter”, Kanamori has wonderfully drawn universal themes, love and desire, to the music of Claude Debussy.
The performances will be the last shows before Tokyo Bunka Kaikan’s temporary closure for three-year renovation. Don’t miss out the mysterious journey of Kaguyahime at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan!
